History of the Southwest Region

The Southwest Region of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated was organized in 1969 at Saint Agatha Catholic Church in Los Angeles, California under the leadership of Juanita Yancey, Regional Director. The Southwest Region encompasses Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. The Southwest Region is home of Delta Chapter, the second chapter chartered in the sorority.

Member Spotlight

Darlene White Petaway, BSBA, RN, iCNA, earned her education from the University of Phoenix and Cuyahoga Community College. She became a member of the Eta Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority in 2020. With an extensive nursing career spanning 33 years, her specialization lies in Orthopedics, Neuro-Traumatic Brain Injury, and Stroke care. Darlene’s motivation to become a nurse stemmed from her desire to create a meaningful impact. Over the years, she observed a shift in nursing towards more business management aspects. For aspiring nurses, she emphasized the importance of honing organizational and technical skills to ensure seamless continuity of care. Among her accolades is the Daisy Award.
